First Steps

Prior to our initial consultation I will ask you to complete the online health questionnaire (see link at bottom of the page). This will enable me to identify your likes and dislikes, understand your history and help begin planning for improvements in the future.

We will arrange a mutually convenient time to meet for your initial consultation and first session.

During the consultation we will discuss, in detail, your specific needs, desires and goals and take into account any constraints we’ll need to plan around. We’ll also agree your training goals and how and when we will measure your progress.

Blood Pressure and
resting heart rate

Your blood pressure represents the force exerted by the circulating blood on the walls of the blood vessels and is one of the principle vital signs. The systolic pressure represents when the heart contract and the diastolic pressure when the heart is relaxed. Nearly one in four adults in the UK has high blood pressure. If you know you have high blood pressure we can work together to reduce it.

Body Composition

Not everyone wants or needs to change their body composition, but if you do, as well as measuring weight, we will take body measurements and progress photos and if you are getting stronger and or fitter. You can also use how your clothes fit as a marker of your body changing. The more measures you use, the less you need to focus on the scale alone.

Posture Analysis

I’ll carry out a brief functional movement screen and kinetic chain assessment to test your body’s idiosyncrasies and to ensure I tailor training programmes to your individual needs.

TESTIMONIALS

You won’t regret having Anita as your trainer. I’ve worked with several personal trainers in the past and Anita is by far the best. She really took the time to understand what I wanted to achieve and, working with my lifestyle, came up with a way of realistically achieving it.

Anita tailors an exercise programme individually for me but it progresses and does not feel repetitious. Anita is unfailingly professional and very good at motivating me. She has made me realise how important it is to put your fitness high up your agenda for your long term health – Jessica, Oxford

With Anita's encouragement, I have taken part in triathlons and run regularly at half-marathon, 10km and 5km distances. Anita just gets women, all the pressures that we have to manage every day, and knows how to support us to make progress, and to get and sustain results – Kirstine, Oxford

I can’t thank Anita enough for everything she has inspired me to do and she has introduced me to a whole range of exercise techniques that I can do at home and that have enabled me to keep my exercise varied and at different intensities. I am confident Anita can inspire anyone to embrace physical fitness, improve their health and make a difference to lifestyle in a fun and very personable way. – Donna R, Oxford

I’m getting married later this year and although it wasn’t the reason I asked Anita for help I’m so glad she’s been with me on this journey. If you’re hesitating in the slightest my advice would be to go for it – don’t bother looking elsewhere - you won’t regret the time you spend with Anita – Jo, Headington

I have found Anita wonderfully supportive, encouraging and professional in her training. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone serious about their physical fitness. She obviously knows her stuff and greatly enjoys teaching it to others. - Alex H, Oxford

I arrive to my session smiling and leave beaming at the confidence Anita gives to me, her belief in me is genuine and supportive. I have great value to our sessions, I have learnt so much from inside (nutrition) and outside (technique) – who know’s you might even see me in the London marathon one day! – Emma S, Oxford

Anita is both enthusiastic and inspirational her positive approach to exercise is warming and vibrant. I find it hard to summon up the motivation to do cardiovascular exercise, but you just can’t help but to step up a notch when Anita is around! She is both a colleague and a friend, which always helps when you are trying to make a change in your fitness program. – Leon, Oxford
