First Steps
Prior to our initial consultation I will ask you to complete the online health questionnaire (see link at bottom of the page). This will enable me to identify your likes and dislikes, understand your history and help begin planning for improvements in the future.
We will arrange a mutually convenient time to meet for your initial consultation and first session.
During the consultation we will discuss, in detail, your specific needs, desires and goals and take into account any constraints we’ll need to plan around. We’ll also agree your training goals and how and when we will measure your progress.
Blood Pressure and
resting heart rate
Your blood pressure represents the force exerted by the circulating blood on the walls of the blood vessels and is one of the principle vital signs. The systolic pressure represents when the heart contract and the diastolic pressure when the heart is relaxed. Nearly one in four adults in the UK has high blood pressure. If you know you have high blood pressure we can work together to reduce it.
Body Composition
Not everyone wants or needs to change their body composition, but if you do, as well as measuring weight, we will take body measurements and progress photos and if you are getting stronger and or fitter. You can also use how your clothes fit as a marker of your body changing. The more measures you use, the less you need to focus on the scale alone.
Posture Analysis
I’ll carry out a brief functional movement screen and kinetic chain assessment to test your body’s idiosyncrasies and to ensure I tailor training programmes to your individual needs.
